Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge

Set high atop the cliffs, looking down on the Save River in southeastern Zimbabwe is Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge. Here, on the edge of the Gona-re-Zhou, Zimbabwe’s second largest National Park, guests can truly feel part of the untamed Africa. Also in this area are the majestic Chilojo Cliffs, which form an impressive backdrop to the meandering Runde River.

About Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge

Enjoying a magnificent location, perched high above the Save River overlooking Gonarezhou National Park, the Lodge has undergone a stunning and extensive refurbishment.
Constructed in stone, thatch, ancient leadwood and teak, the Lodge blends effortlessly with its surroundings. Generous wooden decking areas create a spacious and serene viewing platform overlooking the Save River into Gonarezhou.
Whether you choose a refreshing dip or to relax on a pool lounger with a drink, the swimming pool is positioned perfectly with some of the best views in the Lodge. With the arrival of the cooler winter months, guests can enjoy story telling around the fire or curl up with their favourite book in one of the lounges.
At Chilo Gorge they are committed to maintaining the beauty of the pristine wilderness, the integrity of its native wildlife and to create an unrivalled safari experience for guests. Gonarezhou is blessed with authentic wilderness – guests rarely see another vehicle in the park, but can enjoy abundant and diverse wildlife, birdlife and flora in their natural environment. Gonarezhou means Sacred Totem of the Elephants in the local, Shona language and you can be sure to enjoy seeing this magnificent animal in a wonderful natural habitat.
