About Khulu Ivory Lodge

Khulu Ivory - meaning "Grandfather of all Ivory". Khulu is the endearing name for their director Caddy, meaning "Grandfather". Khulu is a legend in this area, well known to the other lodges and to the rural community where he has spent many hours. He also commands a great deal of space on most social networks, but really he is a legend because of where he can be found right now, in the bush, sweating under the scorching heat of the Hwange sun, managing this building project.

Khulu Ivory had been created in this magnificent place where elephants have rubbed smooth the bark on a tree stump, left their 'dagga' mud on an overhanging teak branch. It's overlooking the elephant’s own waterhole, made by incessant wallowing and digging for salt. It's here guides talk of leopard's lairs and hyena warrens. It is wild, yet carefully constructed so that people can cohabit with animals with minimal impact.

The Amalinda collection know about the love and passion needed in designing a safari camp to make it special, at Khulu Ivory they have had this opportunity to thoroughly and wholeheartedly reinvest their love and passion into the building f this brand new camp from scratch. We hope that you will share in the emotions of this remarkable private lodge, designed with love for Hwange, its wildlife and its ecology.

This Camp Opens 1st February 2013. Bookings are now being taken.
