Mukuwa Kuwa Restaurant

About The Mukuwa Kuwa Restaurant

Mukuwa Kuwa RestaurantTaking its name and decor inspiration from a Royal Drum of local legend, the MaKuwa–Kuwa’s a la carte menu offers a wide variety of internationally-styled cuisine – with a hint of Africa! Impeccable service, mouthwatering meals, a wide selection of fine South African wines and incredible views make dining here an experience fit for royalty. A special daily treat for lunchtime diners is witnessing the spectacular descent of hundreds of vultures coming in to feast in front of the waterhole.

Two flights down from the restaurant, the open-plan Buffalo Bar complements the MaKuwa-kuwa offering a memorable venue for all-day refreshments and tasty snacks, sundowners, and pre- and post-dinner drinks. It has its own game-viewing platform overlooking the waterhole where a variety of wildlife, including elephant and buffalo, form a thrilling parade all year round.

Entertainment

We recommend that diners be seated by 1930hrs for dinner to enjoy our resident acapella performers whose harmonious traditional melodies make a fine accompaniment to an evening of superb food, great wines and a stunning view of the African night sky. Although not entirely by our own design, the calls of nocturnal wildlife and the occasional hyena, elephant or buffalo visiting the waterhole top off a truly incredible dining experience in a one-of-a-kind venue!
