Adventurous Canoe and Walking Safari

Highlights:
This tour from Dryland Safaris is a 6 days / 5 night trip and includes 2 days walking in Mana Pools National Park. It is just the right choice for real outdoor lovers, and those seeking a very special adventure. Safari starts and ends in Chirundu.

About this Safari

On this self-participatory canoe and camping safari you will be accompanied by only two Guides; there will be no other staff around. All the gear and provisions will be taken in the canoes. Only once we will meet with a backup car to reload some fresh vegetables and water.

In the evenings we will setup our Dome tents on the sandbanks of the Zambezi-river, cook and enjoy our meals and listen to the noises of the African bush by night. Day starts early just with a morning tea, packing canoes and a first refreshing paddle among hippo territories to find a nice place for a fortifying breakfast. We will continue canoeing - gliding down the river on remote channels between the islands and we’ll have a long lunchtime break on mainland in the shade of big trees.

We will reach Mana Pools on day four. Our Camp will be setup on the mainland - to explore and encounter the small and large game of this fabulous National Park and World Heritage Site on foot. On day 6 you will be picked up and brought back to Chirundu by car.

Guides: Due to the walking part of your safari, this trip will be accompanied by Bono Lunga, Professional Safari and River Guide plus one other River Guide. Bono will be carrying a large caliber rifle for your safety.

Extend your trip: This trip can be extended to a 10 day trip – meaning: After the walking in Mana Pools we will proceed with canoeing to Kanyemba – from where you’ll be picked up and brought back to Chirundu. This trip requires a minimum of 6 people.
